When Luke Williams, a 29 year old School Teacher, was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer earlier this year, he has set his sights on raising as much money for his chosen charities as possible. With a huge fundraising campaign, ranging from Football Events, Dog Walking and a Gig to Golf Days & Auctions. Having already raised over £14,000 for Cancer Research UK, there are still a lot of events planned. Please visit https://www.williams-weekender.co.uk/ to find out all of the upcoming events and how you can get involved.
Included on Luke’s bucket list was ‘to marry his fiancée Linda’. Having seen the stories in the local press, JET Digital Media Ltd’s Managing Director, Tony Little, set about to contact clients who could help to arrange a honeymoon for Luke & Linda. On finalising the details for the trip, Tony said “Seeing the way that Luke has dedicated his time to raising money for the charities that have helped him was really inspiring, and I thought we should try to do something for him to pay him back for his hard work and kindness .”
After speaking to just a few clients, they were more than willing to help out and JET managed to organise:-
- One nights stay in Mayfair at The Cavendish Hotel
- A meal at exclusive Mayfair Italian restaurant Novikov
- A Champagne Flight on the London Eye
- And Lunch before coming back at Drake & Morgans Bar The Refinery
- Tickets to the iconic Comedy Store for Wednesday Night
Having contacted friend and fundraiser Liam Morris with the news of the trip, Liam commented “We are deeply grateful for all of the donated gifts which we have been able to put together to form a ‘Mini-Moon’ for Luke & Linda. Getting married forms part of Lukes bucket list, we hope that this short break in London can cap off whit is sure to be a beautiful wedding on Friday 8th August. This enables them both to escape from the crazy life they have had to endure over the past two or three weeks and have some quite time, alone together.”
Although JET Digital Media Ltd are truly grateful for all of the above donations, they would also like to kindly ask people, if they can, to make donations to Lukes cause through his fundraising page – www.gofundme.com/lukeywilliams and make a difference.
