In this article we are going to dive into the popular water meter range, available from DMS.
A wide range of water meters are available from DMS Metering, the range includes hot and cold, pulsed and non-pulsed, domestic and commercial flow meters. DMS can help you select the correct meter for the job, if you need assistance, contact our team.
MWN Cold and Hot Water Meters
The MWN Woltmann Cold Water Meters are commercial sized meters for larger applications.
The MWN Water Meter is a propeller, dry water meter with horizontal impeller axle, parallel to pipe axles. The design allows for bulk flows of water to be monitored in either a horizontal or vertical and inclined water supply systems with counter set upwards, sidewards or in medium position H-V. The maximum operating temperature is 30ºC when used on cold water applications, for higher temperature systems on commercial and larger sized pipework and flow rates with a maximum operating temperature of 130°C.
All meters come with PN16 Flanged as standard from 40mm up to 300mm, alongside the option of a BSP Union connection for the 50mm, this design of a Woltmann meter with a 2″ BSP union connection is unique to the MWN range
The Cold-Water Meters are an NKOP Model which means that an NK Pulse Transmitter can be added to get remote readings. Pulsed versions of the Hot Water MWNs are available in the form of MWN-NK Models which include a reed switch and cable to wire to. The output ratios vary between 10 litres per pulse and 100 litres per pulse as the sizes of meter are increased but all models can be changed to meet ratio requirements from 10 litres per pulse up to 1000 litres per pulse. An M-Bus output is also available on the cold-water meter range giving the MWN the suitability to be used on either a wired or wireless M-Bus network.
The MWN Hot and Cold Meters are all MID approved for Billing requirements. The Cold-Water Meters hold the WRAS approval making them safe to use on Potable Drinking Water installations.
Advantages of the MWN Meter
• Permanent and efficient construction, ensuring the flow of water in low loss of pressure and easiness in assembly in random waterworks installations.
• Interchangeable and unified metering layer fitting to several sizes of body and assuring optimal water meter management.
• Standard water meter is suitable for remote readings in AMR system.
• The possibility of mounting the water meter in the intermediate position without the influence on the metrological parameters, larger possibilities in designing and modernizing new used water meters connections.
• Resistant to the external magnetic field, according to EN14154-3
• Wide measuring range
• Ease read-out due to a freely adjustable rotary counter dial placed in the casing
• Possibility of electronic check-up of the metrological parameters of the water meter
• Modular structure
• Removable measuring insert in covered casing
• Magnetic clutch
JS Cold and Hot Water Meters
The JS Water Meters are one of the most popular ranges of Meters from Apator PoWogaz, Domestic Hot and Cold-Water Meters are available in 15 or 20mm connection sizes to suit all smaller and domestic applications with the BSP unions supplied giving a BSP Male threaded connection, these Meters can be mounted in either a horizontal or vertical position thanks to the Single Jet measuring style which can work in either plane of direction.
The maximum operating temperature is 30°C when used on cold water applications, for higher temperature systems on commercial and larger sized pipework and flow rates with a maximum operating temperature of 90°C, with a maximum operating pressure of up to 16 bar (PN16).
The JS Models are all Dry Dial design so the internal dial mechanisms will not be directly worn down by contact with water. Only the turbine impeller makes direct contact with the water. The dial itself can be rotated to make reading the meters easier visually. The latest design for the JS are now suitable to have a retrofittable pulsed output for a ratio of 1 litre per pulse. This allows the meters to connect to a remote data collection network. Alongside the Pulsed Output, an M-Bus version is also available offering the option of a wired or wireless M-Bus output.
The JS Hot and Cold Meters are all MID approved for Billing requirements. The Cold-Water Meters hold the WRAS approval making them safe to use on Potable Drinking Water installations.
Advantages of the JS Meter
• Resistant to strong external magnetic field
• Pre-equip for installation of radio module for communication in the Wireless M-Bus, impulse module and M-Bus module
• Reading’s reliability – fulfils the newest metrological requirements of MID
• Easy reading of the water meter counter
• Hermetic counter (with increased tightness) resistant to steaming
• Counter mechanism with blockade against multiple rotating, at rotation angle more than 360°
• Protection against mechanical tampering
• Protection limiting the results of water freezing
• Outlet port of water meter housing suitable for optional installation of a return valve
• Double-sided rotor bearing.
JSC water meter range
The JSC range is an update to the popular JS range of water meters. By calibrating all the models to comply with MID Class C (R160), the meters can now measure to wider flow ranges. This range covers larger installations and more commercial elements of Water Monitoring, using a Single Jet measuring style means that these meters are suitable when installing in either horizontal or vertical runs of pipework. All meters are supplied with the relevant unions connections to give a BSP Male thread connection.
Advantage of the JSC meter
- Accurate measurement determined by the R160 – H coefficient (formerly class C)
- Protection against: – strong magnetic field interference (magnetic shielding) – mechanical interference (squeeze indicator) – multiple counter rotation prevention COMFORT OF USE:
- Remote radio readings possibility
- Easy to read with – any counter setting within 360°
- Proven and strong construction
- Long service life achieved using modern materials
