Morgan Innovations have opened their doors as part of Make UK’s National Manufacturing Day celebrations and are offering ‘through the keyhole’ tours of their manufacturing base in Petersfield.
The aim of the day is to help encourage all age groups from school leavers to more experienced workers looking at reskilling to consider the possibilities of a career in manufacturing as well as helping local communities understand more about their local businesses.
Visitors will be able to tour the production facility, ask questions of our experts in research and development and see some of the ground-breaking innovations we’ve developed.
They are also able to demonstrate the value of a manufacturing apprenticeship as an alternative route after school or college as a way to “earn as you learn” – taking a young person all the way to a University Degree for those who are interested in this option.
On hand this morning was our newly appointed CEO, Alan Arthur, who took the opportunity to go along and welcome Nigel Clarke, CEO of Morgan Innovations to his new appointment, as he becomes a member of the Board of Directors at GTMA.
Alan added ” today marks a significant initiative within UK manufacturing to bridge the skills gap in our industry.”
National Manufacturing Day is an opportunity for manufacturers to showcase the range of highly skilled and well-paid jobs they have on offer by throwing open their doors in a UK wide Open House on Thursday 7 July 2022.
