NORD DRIVESYSTEMS expands its NORDAC PRO inverter family to include sizes with powers of up to 22 kW. All five sizes in the product series have an integrated multi-protocol Ethernet interface and a slim, compact design. NORD thus offers the perfect electronic solution for its optimally matched drive systems – and does so for a wide power range.
A wide variety of interfaces and functions in one product series: This is provided by the NORDAC PRO inverter family. The series has only been available since 2019 and has already placed itself very successfully on the market. The integrated multi-protocol Ethernet interface allows communication via the protocols Profinet, EtherCAT, EtherNET/IP or Ethernet POWERLINK. The compact design in book-size format enables space-saving installation in control cabinets.
Ideally matched drive solutions
The three established sizes or power classes are now supplemented by the drive specialist to include two models for power outputs from 7.5 to 11 kW and 15 to 22 kW. This means that more powerful applications are made possible, such as in intralogistics, post & parcel or the food industry. “With the additional sizes, we offer a further expansion of our comprehensive portfolio of ideally matched drive solutions”, Jörg Niermann, Head of Marketing at NORD DRIVESYSTEMS, emphasises.
What characterises all sizes: They convince with a high overload capability, can be easily parametrised via a Bluetooth interface and are suited for operation of synchronous as well as asynchronous motors. Plug-in control and option modules ensure maximum flexibility. Additionally, even the basic version of the NORDAC PRO SK 500P device family offers high-quality connection and functional features such as CANopen interface, brake chopper, PLC function and POSICON positioning control. Furthermore, the safety functions STO (Safe Torque Off) and SS1 (Safe Stop 1) can be integrated.
Higher functionality and power with fewer variants
Compared to previous generation cabinet-mounted frequency inverters, the new inverters enable a
significant reduction of device versions, which brings a clear efficiency advantage, especially for large scale systems. At the same time, the NORDAC PRO SK 500P inverters offer a wider and even better quality range of functions.
In addition to improved characteristics and performance features, the new inverter generation uses the proven NORDAC parameter structure and is physically and functionally downward compatible. “We are successively expanding the family further”, explains Niermann, “so that technologically leading NORDAC PRO devices will be available for all power ranges in the coming years.
