On April 17, 2023, industrial digital solutions provider, Novotek expanded its presence in Ireland with the opening of a new office. Novotek delivers consultation and vendor-led expert services across Northern Europe, and this move recognises the growing importance of the Irish market in the company’s future growth strategy.

Novotek has a significant number of Irish customers and by strengthening its presence on the ground, the opening of the new office will allow the company to continue delivering consultation, vendor-led expert services, automation products and software licenses to the Republic of Ireland market, but with additional customer support.

Novotek’s Irish operations will be led by new recruit, Martin Hurley, who recently joined Novotek as business development manager for Ireland.  Hurley joins with 37 years of experience in various software and engineering sales roles. He spent 15 years working as the GE solution partner in Ireland.

“Manufacturing is an industry that is really driving the Irish economy,” explained Hurley. “In sectors such as pharmaceuticals, electronics and food production, we’ve seen some of the largest players establish sites here. Following on from Brexit, an Irish office was the next logical move. We plan to offer supported home working with monthly meet ups, high basic salaries and ongoing training.”

“Despite being headquartered in Sweden, Novotek has established long-term partnerships with world-class suppliers in the UK like GE Digital and Emerson Automation,” explained George Walker, managing director of Novotek UK & Ireland. ‘‘We have been a channel partner for both these brands since the foundation of the company in 1986.’’

“It’s partnerships like these that allow us to offer best-in-class solutions to our customers, regardless of their requirements or industry sector, allowing them to achieve significant improvements in productivity, resource consumption and supply chain coordination. With a greater presence in Ireland, we can offer Irish customers the highest level of expertise in assessing their potential areas of opportunity, and in preparing a plan to capture them.’’

The Ireland office opening follows a year of success for Novotek. In late 2022, the company acquired Astec IT Solutions, having worked in collaboration with the industrial IT and IoT systems integrator since the early 2000s. Newly re-branded Novotek Solutions UK & Ireland Ltd, the team will play a key role in delivering vendor-led expert services, to ensure that customers benefit from modern architectures and deployment methods as they adopt the current generation of edge tech, automation, data management, and analytics solutions.

“Novotek’s quest is to allow manufacturing and industry to fulfil their digital needs,” explained Tobias Antius, CEO of Novotek AB. “Our recent acquisition of Astec, coupled with the opening of our Irish office, allows the Novotek team to cover more ground across the UK and Ireland, helping more manufacturers along the way.”
