Delivering the latest in subcontract measurement #Engineering #Subcon #2023

~ The Sempre Group heads to Subcon 2023 ~

To help manufacturers reduce bottle necks from production to quality, industrial metrology specialist The Sempre Group provides subcontract measurement and will exhibit at Subcon 2023 from 7-8 June, 2023 at the NEC in Birmingham. On stand A120, Sempre will showcase the subcontract measurement process, including some of its capabilities and technology and the data the customer receives as a result. Visitors will be able to meet some of the team, who will support them in measurement, and see its measurement systems in action.

Manufacturers must measure components to ensure they meet specification. However, if measurement is done manually, or there is only one coordinate measuring machine (CMM), this can delay the journey to market significantly. Often, the time to measure can be longer than the production process itself.

At this year’s Subcon show, the Sempre team will show visitors how it can become an extension of their quality and inspection department by offering subcontract measurement support. Manufacturing firms often see a bottleneck in production due to delays in quality inspection, with resource being a key challenge, whether it’s people, equipment or metrology expertise. Sempre’s team can help by introducing robust measurement routines that demonstrate compliance, carrying out measurements and providing full reporting on behalf of these customers.

The stand will feature an array of metrology systems that demonstrate the scope of Sempre’s subcon offering, including the Micro-Vu multi-sensing CMM range, the Sensofar 3D optical profiler and JENOPTIK Opticline optical shaft measurement system. As well as measurement, Sempre provides insight using quality management software, including High QA Inspection Manager, an auto-ballooning software that engineers can use to scan entire drawings and automatically extract the geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) data and full compliance reporting such as first article inspection (FAI) and production part approval process (PPAP).

“Subcontract measurement plays a crucial part in the manufacturing supply chain, and we can help eliminate bottlenecks as well as the risks associated with delays caused by the measurement process,” explained Mike John, technical director at The Sempre Group.

“At Subcon, we plan to show the latest in our measurement capabilities, and how we can bridge gaps in manufacturers’ quality processes,” continued John. “For those manufacturers that may not be able to buy equipment outright, have sufficient skilled resource available or are taking on projects for the first time, this is a great opportunity to demonstrate how our specialist team can act as an extension to their team.”

The Sempre Group’s extensive range of systems allows its team to measure any size, shape or quantity of components and offer independent advice. Get in touch to find out more about its sub-contract measurement services.
