RIVELIN RELEASES VIDEO SHOWING ITS METAL AM POST PROCESSING TECHNOLOGY IN ACTION IN ADVANCE OF FORMNEXT 2023

(Sheffield, United Kingdom, 26th October 2023). Rivelin Robotics is delighted to release a video showing its Netshape® Robots in action in advance of the Formnext 2023 event. The video shows how the company’s automated metal AM post processing technology works, and emphasises the simplicity of the solution from a user perspective.

The company produces various metal AM post-processing cells, including the NS0, the NS1 and the NS2, each of which contains robots from partner Yaskawa Europe, which are controlled by Rivelin’s Netshape software. The video demonstrates the innovative, world class capabilities of Netshape® Robots and can be viewed below:

The company’s NS0 cell offers an affordable platform to delve into and experience cutting-edge digital manufacturing software. It comes equipped with the top-tier Netshape® control, advanced sensing and instructional capabilities. The NS1 (featured in the video) is tailored for those transitioning into full-scale production, adeptly handling tasks like support removal, finishing, polishing, and blasting. With its dual finishing zones, it promotes efficiency by allowing simultaneous finishing on one side while loading and unloading on the other.

Boasting a compatibility with parts weighing up to 600kg and dimensions of 800mm x 650mm x 600mm, the NS1 is versatile and material-agnostic, ensuring a wide range of applications. The NS2 elevates the capabilities of the NS1, by seamlessly integrating 8 + 8 axis parallel processing. This advanced feature is achieved by harnessing the power of two robots operating simultaneously. Whether it’s inspection, handling, pick and place actions, fixturing, cleaning, or concurrent machining, the NS2 ensures unparalleled efficiency and precision. It’s the optimal solution for those seeking to maximize productivity and finesse in their operations.

Robert Bush, CEO at Rivelin says, “Our cells as seen in the recently released video are effectively enclosed microfactories that combine an industrial Yaskawa robot equipped with an array of tools, state-of-the-art sensors and processes to ensure dexterity and driven by the powerful NetShape® control software that we have developed. The intelligent software uses both machine learning and traditional deterministic control theory to optimise the quality and repeatability of support removal and finishing. The result is an automated support removal and finishing solution that reduces defects in parts by up to 90%, results in a significant reduction in operational costs, and elimination of human risk and variability.”

Rivelin Robotics is a pioneer in the digital transformation of manufacturing. Offering repeatability, reliability and traceability, Rivelin NetShape® is an AI-driven robotics platform that transforms any 3D model into digital metalworking recipes executed by industrial robots. The technology allows businesses to reshore production, multiply productivity and innovate with sustainable digital manufacturing.

The company will be exhibiting at the upcoming Formnext 2023 event, taking place 7-10 November, and can be found in Hall 12 Stand E41, where its Netshape® robots will be in action, and where the Rivelin team will be on hand to explain how its automated AM post processing solution has the potential to solve many of the challenges manufacturers of metal parts face through intelligent automation.
