ISHIDA TO SHOWCASE VALUE-FOR-MONEY WEIGHERS

Weighing solutions that enable African food manufacturers to become more competitive will form the highlight of the Ishida Europe stand at Propak East Africa.  The company says the accuracy, speed and reliability of its new value-for-money CHW multihead weigher and DACS-EL checkweigher models help to eliminate product giveaway and increase throughput, allowing more packs to be produced and delivering higher yields for each production run.

A 14 head and a 10 head model from the Ishida CHW multihead weigher range – specifically designed for free flowing dry foods such as snacks, nuts, cereals, rice, pulses, pasta and sugar – will be on display.  Speeds of up to 80 packs per minute with accuracy to within 1% of target mean the weighers can achieve a typical payback on investment of less than one year.

The hygienic design allows easy cleaning and maintenance.  Tool-free removal and replacement of contact parts and a user-friendly keypad operation minimise downtime.

The robust Ishida DACS-EL checkweigher provides reliable weight monitoring to ensure pack consistency and meet all regulatory requirements.  It incorporates Ishida’s proven load cell technology that ensures exceptional levels of accuracy and consistency, with a weighing range between 10 and 1200g and the ability to handle pack sizes of up to 300m (length), 220mm (width) and 130mm (height).  Set up is via a simple, user-friendly 7” colour LCD display.

The height-adjustable, cantilevered single frame design means the DACS-EL is able to fit into factories with limited space. The checkweigher offers a choice of reject systems – air, arm and pusher – with top speeds of 200 packs per minute.

Ishida is the world leader in the design, manufacture and installation of complete weighing and packing line solutions for the food industry.  The company has been operating in Africa since 1982 and has a dedicated sales and service support office near Johannesburg, South Africa and in Aug 2015 appointed Allwin Packaging International (Nairobi) as its official distributor for East Africa.
