@WhatsNewInElec It’s Competition Time.

The IPC Hand Soldering Competition supported by Advanced Rework Technology will be running on both days of What’s New in Electronics Live at The NEC from 9th – 10th May – www.wnie.co.uk/live

This contest recognises the best skills in hand soldering complex printed board assemblies.  Hand soldering of high density printed boards demands highly skilled operators to ensure a zero-defect soldering process.

Who is the best of the best?

Cash prizes for 3rd, 2nd and 1st place.  Plus the winner gets the opportunity to travel to an international event and compete to go onto the World Championships.

The competition will be held at the Advanced Rework Technology/IPC hand soldering competition Stand 148, Hall 8.

Show opening times:

Tuesday 9th May – 9.30 – 5pm

Wednesday 10th May – 9.30 – 4pm.

Over two days, participants will compete against each other to build a functional electronics assembly within a 60-minute time limit. Assemblies will be judged on soldering in accordance with IPC-A-610F Class 3 criteria, the speed at which the assembly was produced and overall electrical functionality of the assembly.

IPC-A-610 Master Instructors will serve as the judges.
