Process engineers announce new MD @BPEDesign

Noel Quigley is set to take the helm at process engineering firm BPE as current managing director Mike Brown has announced plans to retire later this year.

Mike will retire in August, having built the firm from inception to becoming one of the country’s most respected sources of process engineering expertise, specialising in fine and speciality chemicals and life sciences.
He will remain involved in BPE in a non-executive board role and will work closely with Noel as he prepares to take the reins officially on July 1.

Mike said: “Building the business over the last 21 years has been a real labour of love and I know I’ll be leaving it in good hands with Noel. He has vast experience in leading large teams and this, coupled with his strength across our key sector areas, makes him the perfect man to take on the job.
“I look forward to continuing my involvement in BPE on the board and seeing how Noel takes the company into its next era.”

Noel has been technology director at BPE for 18 months and an announcement regarding his successor in this pivotal role will follow in due course.
Commenting on his new position Noel said: “I am absolutely thrilled to step up to the position of managing director at BPE. During my time with the company I’ve seen the incredible results it’s achieving for clients day in, day out, and I’m looking forward to more of that in the years to come.
“Our customers can rest assured that we’ll be delivering the same great service as I work with the board to help the company grow even further.”
Ian Shott, chairman of BPE, added: “Noel is the perfect person to lead BPE forward as it continues to grow and challenge the status quo. Mike has set an ambitious and clear growth strategy and Noel is already well-poised to carry the baton.”

BPE has been helping manufacturers make their processes safer and more efficient since 1997. It offers a full range of process engineering services, including process modelling, process safety, project management and process development/scale-up support. It counts some of the UK’s biggest blue-chip manufacturers among its clients.
In 2016 it announced an ambitious five-year growth strategy, which was kick-started with the opening of a new office in the North of England. Several high level appointments and award wins have followed, with the company picking up significant projects in the process.
