Forresters supports companies with their commitment to cut carbon

As the UK works towards its goal of reaching net zero by 2050, Forresters is proud to be one of the many companies that is committed to cutting carbon emissions.

The leading firm of patent and trade mark attorneys has made a number of changes to ensure it is working towards a greener future. At the same time, it is helping other businesses create technologies that are enabling the UK to work towards its ambitious environmental targets.

It is thanks to the many innovative businesses across the UK that the country has been able to set a target of reaching net zero emissions. Recently, it was revealed that the UK is the world leader in offshore wind energy generation – and that includes floating offshore wind energy projects. The UK has more capacity than anywhere else in the world, and some of those wind turbines are being created in Southampton.

James Cornford, a partner at Forresters’ Southampton office, said: “It makes sense for the UK to tap into wind power as a renewable and sustainable energy source because the UK has many locations suitable to harvest it. We are proud to work with companies that are safeguarding their R&D efforts to help drive technological advancement across a range of eco-friendly industries.”

Earlier this year Forresters moved its London office to the Gherkin, which has a number of energy-saving innovations and uses around half the power that a similar building would normally consume. The firm has also put in place enhanced video conferencing capabilities across its offices in Birmingham, Liverpool, London, Munich and Southampton, offering clients a first-rate service no matter where they are in the world.

James said: “We have a number of sustainable objectives that we are building on, which include working practices that assist other businesses with their environmental targets. By continually investing in the company, we have been able to provide our clients with a continuous and seamless service during the pandemic, ensuring they can continue safeguarding their intellectual property.”
