Introducing the TruMet PW100 – a new era in weather monitoring has landed.

Gill Instruments have launched our first ever Optical Rain Gauge (ORG), the TruMet PW100, and we couldn’t be more excited. It’s ready to modernise your operation by delivering the accuracy you need and the reliability you’ve never had. Our improvements
The first thing we did was get rid of the outdated and troublesome bucket. By using a solid-state optical (LED) approach to measure the rainfall rather than a mechanical collection, the TruMet PW100 is able to detect and analyse the size and velocity of droplets, and can even filter out unwanted elements that cause clogging, such as insects and debris.

Benefits of TruMet PW100
With no moving parts, collection funnel, or tipping mechanism, the TruMet PW100 delivers accuracy equal to that of traditional tipping buckets, but with the added bonus of longevity and reduced maintenance costs. Add in the easy setup, with the TruMet PW100 being easily integrated into your existing monitoring networks without system changes, and upgrading couldn’t be simpler.

What’s more, the TruMet PW100 is also available two variants; a standalone rainfall sensor and as an integrated option within Gill’s MaxiMet product line.

“Rainfall is changing, yet the industry relies on legacy mechanical technology,” said Greg Koch, Product Manager at Gill. “We didn’t set out to reinvent rain measurement for novelty’s sake. We set out to remove the weakest link.”
