In a clear sign that the organisers’ strategy to co-locate the show with three other relevant events is paying off, Maintec, the UK’s leading event for the maintenance, plant and asset management industry boasted huge numbers. Over 2,262 unique visitors and more than 85 exhibitors were packed into the Birmingham’s NEC, to celebrate all that the industry has to offer.
The show, which took place on 24 – 26 March 2015, witnessed a significant increase in footfall, with the likes of Wickes, Country Wide, Rolls-Royce and Siemens in attendance. Katie Crocombe, Maintec Event Manager at Easyfairs, commented:
“We celebrated Maintec’s 40th edition this year, which in itself is a massive achievement within the events industry – but beyond the anniversary, there was a real buzz this year, which was great to experience. The world of maintenance and asset management is changing. We’re mindful of that and changing the show in response; with a real focus on making sure we provide the right content to attract the right visitors. Plus of course with Maintec running alongside three other relevant events, it creates a real hub of knowledge and innovation. While we never get complacent, the numbers and feedback suggest we’re moving the show in the right direction.”
Maintec 2015 ran alongside one brand new show, Cleaning, which is dedicated to buyers and suppliers from within the cleaning industry, plus two returning co-located shows, Facilities Management – the UK’s only event for facilities management professionals that attracts a nationwide audience outside London – and The Health & Safety Event. These co-locations offered visitors four shows under one roof, boasting hours of educational content, inspirational industry experts and a wealth of leading international suppliers.
Terry Hammond, Maintenance Engineer at QVC found Maintec, in conjunction with three other shows, a strong combination: “Maintec had an exhibition full of the latest products, resources and trends which help me perform my role better. I used the show as a source of ideas and concepts moving forward into the coming year”.
Maintec 2015 was used as a platform for numerous exhibitors to launch new products and concepts to the UK market. eMaint showcased its new eMaint MX Mobile, RMS Reliability presented its new web-based learning series, iLearnReliability while MCP Consulting and Training used the show to introduce its new concept, The Manufacturing Cost Improvement Programme to the food and drink sector.
John Saysell, Head of Technical Training and Business Development at MCP Consulting and Training said: “By the end of 2014 there were over 1,400 food and drink manufacturers at risk of collapse due to the brutal price war between Britain’s major supermarkets. This battle is a massive issue within the food and drink industry at the moment and more companies are going to go bust unless they look at their manufacturing processes. The show has provided us with the perfect opportunity to get our message across, generating some really great leads. The quality of visitor to our stand has been outstanding, fingers cross the leads turn into long-term business.”
Also exhibiting at the show was Lucy Morphew, Marketing Assistant at Keytracker, who remarked: “Maintec 2015 has been a great success for Keytracker Ltd and iLockerz this year. Being able to demonstrate in person exactly how our products work has really helped in showing potential customers that key and asset management is vital for any business to improve security and organisation.”
More than just an exhibition, the 2015 show boasted more show content than ever before, with The Business Strategy Forum, hosted by Manchester University, providing a unique opportunity to hear leading industry experts provide insights, discuss key industry challenges facing maintenance professionals and offer relevant case studies.
Running in conjunction with The Business Strategy Forum was The Business Exchange, which saw 18 free content-rich talks packed full of advice, new innovations and case studies for visitors to learn from.
